Privacy Policy
Presenter-Chak helps you highlight, capture, zoom, annotate, pin, and record your Windows screen. This policy explains how information is processed and stored when you use these features.
1. Information processed and its purpose
To provide features you start, the app processes images from your selected screen or window, video from a browser tab you choose in the browser’s sharing dialog, images you submit to OCR, and computer playback audio during screen recording. Processing takes place on your PC. Screen recording does not record microphone input.
Browser tab pinning displays a local preview of the tab you select and allow the browser to share. It uses a 127.0.0.1 loopback connection. Video streams are not sent to or stored on developer servers or in the cloud. The connection ends when you stop sharing or close the app.
Korean and English OCR runs offline using recognition data and an engine included with the app. OCR results are not recorded in app settings. You can choose to copy or save the results yourself.
2. Data stored on your device
- PNG captures are saved to a location you choose.
- MP4 recordings are saved in the Windows Downloads folder. Other windows and notifications visible on screen may be included. Monitor recordings may include computer playback audio, but do not include microphone input.
- Shortcuts, app settings, and window layouts are stored under
%AppData%\PresenterChakin your user profile. - Diagnostic logs and offline OCR data are stored under
%LocalAppData%\PresenterChak. Logs may contain timestamps, feature transitions, process and window identifiers, error descriptions, and local file paths. They do not record screen pixels, OCR results, or general keystrokes.
3. Internet transmission, sharing, and advertising
The publisher does not collect or share account information, screen video, recorded audio, or OCR content through the app. The app has no advertising identifiers, ads, usage analytics, remote diagnostics, or developer-hosted remote storage. Tab sharing uses a local connection between the selected browser tab and your PC.
4. Retention and deletion
Settings, diagnostics, and OCR data remain in your local user profile and are not transmitted to publisher servers. You manage saved PNG and MP4 files yourself. After closing the app, you can delete the app’s data from %AppData%\PresenterChak and %LocalAppData%\PresenterChak. Deleting these folders also resets settings and diagnostic records.
5. Security and your controls
The app and its output files use Windows user-account file access controls. Output files are not separately encrypted by the app. Protect important captures and recordings through your Windows account and storage permissions. Captures and recordings may include other people’s information visible on your screen; check the content and relevant permissions before saving or sharing files.
6. Changes to this policy
If app features or information processing change, this policy and its last-updated date will be revised.
